How are you today?

I won't change my DU name. I like it way too much, beside it isn't connected to *. So there is no reason to change it :) It is really confusing at the moment to figure out who is/was who. I remember 2004 there was the user name amnesty around the time I joined. But since I didn't know anyone it didn't confuse me. So please my friends, be patient with me if I don't recognize you right away :)

I remember this structure from when I was in Berlin back in 1970. It was, at the time located in East Berlin, another radio tower too I think.

It was special to get up there during the GDR times. I don't think I ever went up there.

13. Did you know....

...that when the sun strikes it just right a Christian Cross is reflected on it's surface and is quite noticeable all over Berlin? I recall hearing that this phenomenon was quite annoying to the GDR government for some reason. Thinking about this just now, what I heard back then was quite likely a rumour deliberately started to paint the GDR government as 'godless'...the 'Cold War' was in full swing back then and the west rarely missed an opportunity to spread stuff about those governments who were loyal to the USSR.

Berlin was quite the city back then, I can only imagine it is now tenfold more beautiful then what I remember. Someday, if life treats me better, I shall have to revisit your lovely country.

My view from the old apartment were other buildings. Not such a wide view. I like it a lot. To look and the eyes are able to roam after staring at the screen all day long ... relaxing.
