Help! Computer advice needed!
You guys have never let me down so here goes: I have an HP computer and I'm running Windows XP. I have a dial up internet connection. Before last summer I used to be able to go online to the registry of deeds, do a records search and pull up the images of deeds etc. Now when I try to pull up an image on this site I get a blank white screen with a little square in the upper left hand corner with a little person icon in it. When I click the right mouse button on it and go to properties I am told that the "hyper text transfer protocol" is not available.

I think that this problem happened sometime last summer when I was fooling around with the computer trying to get rid of the pop up virus. I wonder if I deleted some program that enabled me to get the images from the registry. (By the way, I've checked with the registry and nothing has changed with them).

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated!

1. Quick fix: try with another browser
Mozilla if you're using IE. Or Opera if you're using Mozilla already.

2. I'm using Microsoft Internet Explorer customized for Verizon Online.
How do I get Mozilla or Opera?

4. Go here and follow the instructions
http://download.com.com/3000-2356-10257381.html?tag=lst-0-11

Are you having that problem with any other site you visit? Or is it just that one? I suspect there might be a setting wrong on their server.

5. Strange...I can download document images
at other sites like the Secretary of State and I know many other people who are not having any problems with the registry so I don't think it's their server.

3. On the Internet Explorer tool bar
select Tools>Internet Options
Under "Temporary Internet Files," click on Delete Files

If this doesn't do it, check your Security Settings
select Tools>Internet Options
click on the Security tab
set your Security Level to medium and see if this works.

6. It could be the website
HTTP -- "hyper text transfer protocol" -- works both ways.

I know that the Pennsylvania state website was out at least twice in the last year doing upgrades.

If you can get on other sites OK, then it's probable that that single site is out.
