A Prairie Home Companion.
I just listened again to the opening twenty minutes from yesterday's show. First a song about how frigid Minnesota is and how much nicer to be in Louisville, where the show was this week. Then a riff about last week's show, and then the song My Old Kentucky Home, with the audience doing the choruses without much help from Garrison Keillor. And then a song he wrote just the day before about the USAir incident with flight 1549. It was a tribute to the captain, Chesley B. Sullenberger III, first officer Jeffrey Skiles, and flight attendants Shelia Dail, Doreen Welsh, and Donna Dent. Those two songs together, My Old Kentucky Home and the Flight 1549 one were absolutely transcendental.
