MS Office for Linux?
Nope.

Which is good, they'd just make a wussy WINE port anyway, much like how Corel had. :eyes:

Yo, we want native Linux code. Cheating via WINE or emulation is like filling an unleaded car with lead-based gasoline (remember those lovely halcyon days of 1980...)

1. Why?
Open Office is free and just as easy to use. And there is also Star Office, and doesn't KDE have an office? It would be expensive and pointless for MS.

2. Why not?
The Mac has lots of office suites. That didn't stop Microsoft...

Besides, some people think that Bill Gates and the name "Microsoft" are cool. :eyes: With Microsoft openly supporting Linux, they'd quickly lose a chunk of the folks who buy their OS (though given their despicable licensing agreements they make hardware vendors sign, they wouldn't lose diddley in the end.)

3. Open Office = a better MS Office than MS Office.
Pretty sad when an open source program can open proprietary files better than the program that created them!

4. Yeah...
it doesn't play dumb like Office, responding with some "oh, that's not the proper file, do you want to convert/destroy the file forever?" Ever seen an MS Works file opened in MS Word? It garbage. These guys (MS) can't even follow their own corporate code, they should be strangled out of the market. And will one day I think.
