I am now a legally licensed driver again!! w00t!
Waited about 25 minutes at the DMV...took about 5 minutes to renew my expired license. I'm bad, I drove to the DMV... :o

Here's the weird thing, they never asked to see my ID. I could have been a terrarist bi_baby impersonator!

They also made me take my glasses off for the picture, which was weird, since I wear them every day. I don't like the picture, but whatever.

But now I am good to go, and can finally drive again. With my perfect driving record, I didn't want to blemish it by driving with no license, other than today, that is. :P

1. Did they ask you not to smile, too?
That's supposed to be the new thing - no smiling because of face recognition detectors! That sounds a bit creepy to me. :scared:

4. I'm a very careful driver...hence my so far perfect record
10 years, no tickets and no accidents. I'm going for another 10!

I needed this today, as I'm driving 150 miles tomorrow. Getting pulled over then would have sucked!

6. Enjoy your drive.
I've been very fortunate. Only 1 ticket in 35 years. I hold a CDL and consider myself VERY fortunate.

It's the other guy/gal I watch out for.

7. Oh, most definitely...I've always got my eye on the other drivers
I think waiting until I was 22 to get my license was a good idea, made me a more mature driver, or something. :)

5. Yeah, except the temporary one says in big red letters
"NOT TO BE USED FOR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES"

:eyes:

So let's hope I don't get carded until I get my new permanent one. I still have the old one, so I could try to use that in a pinch, I suppose. :D

8. The glasses thing is recent ...
I drove my Mom to the DMV to get her license updated (she was afrid of getting lost; she also said that this will be the last time she will renew it, getting up on the years) and they had her take hers off.

Why? "Policy". Ummm ... thanks for the explanation.

9. I don't understand it...plus, I look like crap without my glasses
Had I known, I would have worn makeup. At least this picture looks like me, the last one was taken 10 years ago, and nobody believes it's me!

12. you can bet
that if you hadn't had your ID, they'd have asked you for it. That's how that always works.

They're making everyone take their glasses off now. I'm not sure when that started, but I had to take mine off this year too.

14. I refused to renew my drivers license over the last few years.
Think I am going to get it renewed on Jan 21, might even see if I can get a car again in a couple months. Haven't driven in over a year, lots of walking and busses.

15. I didn't have.......
to remove my glasses when I renewed my license in August in the Evergreen state. Must be because Washington is full of terrorist loving hippies, or so I've been told by a classmate.
