1. I remember so many women that wanted to take a break
Slow it down some, have some space

Fortunately those days are over.

3. I didn't really listen to this band at the time
Edited on Tue Jan-13-09 06:22 PM by Ahpook
Years later, after a few cuts in my soul, this tune popped out to me:)

Age teaches you quite a few things doesn't it? Good or bad...

Great band!

6. "How Soon Is Now" by the Smiths ... our college anthem.
I can't even explain how that song makes me feel ... I get goosebumps every time I hear Johnny Marr's shimmering intro. :hi:

23. That is one that brings back memories for me, too!
I did an internship in Washington, DC and a bunch of us used to go dancing every weekend at the local "new wave" club. "How Soon Is Now" always got us out on the dance floor!!

You Can Count on Me - Van Gogh's Ear:

Coffee with a pinch of salt,
feeling I want to cry,
my world is trembling,
sensing the end is near.

I don't want to win,
what does it matter now?
I'm tired of making up excuses,
because things just didn't work out.

And all that will remain,
are memories of good yesterdays,
that we had together,
and now I just want to believe...

That you will remember the Winter evenings in Madrid,
whole nights spent without sleep,
when I felt that I could die from love
seeing you waiting by my door,
sitting on the floor not thinking,
that you could count on me.

There never was malice,
only innocence.
trying to make us believe,
the world was at our feet.

When sleep finally comes,
in the silence I will build,
a life in every color
where we can both live.

And all that will remain,
are memories of good yesterdays,
that we had together,
and now I just want to believe,

That you will remember the Winter evenings in Madrid,
whole nights spent without sleep,
when I felt that I could die from love
seeing you waiting by my door,
sitting on the floor not thinking,
that you could count on me...

forever, and I cannot help but miss you
while you you're still,
nearby but leaving
and I feel that I want to see you, see you,
and I think that...

You will remember the Winter evenings in Madrid,
whole nights spent without sleep,
when I felt that I could die from love
seeing you waiting by my door,
sitting on the floor not thinking,
that you could count on me...

That you will remember the Winter evenings in Madrid,
whole nights spent without sleep,
as life goes by
and I die,
I die missing you.

Not so many memories, just a few -- one in particular, poignant and important to me...

24. Edgar Winter Group, Free Ride
That whole album, in fact (They Only Come Out at Night). Takes me back to college ... many many years ago. I saw them in Memphis on that tour. Dr. John opened for them (The Night Tripper ... The Right Place Man!). Didn't have a care in the world.
