I am SO excited for my upcoming peaceful weekend! Check it out!
So on Friday, I'm driving home to Western MA, and I will be spending Friday-Sunday/Monday on a 180 acre farm that's at 1600 feet above sea level, on top of a mountain.

My Ex's parents' have to go on a business trip, and they need him to take care of the farm while they're out of town. 16 Norwegian Fjord horses and numerous goats, plus the dogs and cats. So I'm gonna go up there and hang with him for the weekend, so I can get out of the city and to keep him company.

No internet, no cell service. :D

I'm planning to knit, knit, and knit some more, cook on a gas stove (YES!), and relax.

And then on Sunday or Monday, he and I will drive back out here, and he'll hang with us here for a few days, so he can get out of the country for a few. Lol.

:bounce:

:hi:

3. Aw, he's also my best friend
We've been best friends for almost 18 years. We were only together for 6 of those years. We get along smashingly, usually. :)

I'm excited to see the goats. :D

4. Yes, I think so
I know they're always going to some kind of horse shows. Norwegian Fjords are beautiful beasties:

8. I think they breed them. Fireplace? Maybe...
Depends on where we're staying, they have 5(?) rental properties on the farm, aside from the main house. I know that there aren't any in the cabin or the sugarhouse apartment, but there may be one in the newer place.

Right now I'm working on a lace shawl, and I have several pairs of socks to finish as well. Lace is my new thing though. Love it!

21. He'll be holding down the fort here while I'm away
He's a city boy, I think he'd go nuts up on the mountain, esp with no internet.

And then we'll come back here, and he and the Ex can play video games and all that fun stuff. :D

12. I *think* that's the breed they have...
or it was the breed they had before. Not sure. The best time of year is when the babies are born...nothing as fun as bottle feeding the bebes. :D

I cannot wait to cook on a gas stove...I miss it so much. Now I just gotta figure out what I'm going to cook. He's a vegetarian. :)

15. That's a possibility...First night I'm doing fresh pasta with sauteed veggies,
a nice salad, and bread. That's what he and I always used to make when we were living up there for a few months.

Oh, and wine. Yummy wine. :9

11. That sounds GREAT. My weekend will be spent assembling bookcases.
I get my leftover sick time payout from last year this week, which means I can FINALLY finish redecorating the new apartment. New couch, new coffee table, new bookshelves, new entertainment center, new china cabinet, and nice frames for some of my photographs to put over the new couch.

I'm positively giddy!

20. Silly, we don't lock doors out in the boonies!
:P

I am so lucky, this is just what I needed and wanted. The farm is probably my favorite place on Earth. I haven't been up there since...2005, maybe, right after we broke up. Would be nicer in the summer, but I'll enjoy it anyway.

:loveya:
