It's amazing how much of a difference the presence or absence of wind makes. It's not windy at the moment.
I'm not cracking out my tube top and daisy dukes or anything. It has to be at least 18F before I go that far.
Brrr MN!

1. Wind chill does make a huge difference. And really, anything under -20 all feels pretty much
the same. It was nice and warm on Sunday, wasn't it? Like, 10!

2. It's 40 degrees in NW Houston and it's freaking freezing feeling.
I guess my blood has thinned out rather quickly.
On the plus side, it's 6 degrees in my old neighborhood.

5. I want to come visit you!

40 is shorts weather for at least 15 percent of the population here.

14. 49 in Seattle
Not bad for a city farther north than Fargo, huh?

Good thing too. We don't deal with snow here well at all.

6. Here in Saint Paul, it's -15.
I'm going to wait until it warms up to -5 before I go out and blow yesterday's snow off the driveway. It'll be balmy, for sure. Let me count the layers of clothing....

9. I would probably die there
do you ever have a hard time breathing in that weather? It seems that the air would be awfully chilly on the lungs.

We have the opposite problem in that we haven't had rain in a while and will probably be expriencing a big drought this year. It's the warmest January on record. Not a good thing, imo. sigh.

10. I actually considered wearing a hat this morning.
But it wasn't really all that far below zero, and when I got to work and was walking through the parking lot, nobody else was wearing one, so I'd have felt like a dork if I had.

11. Well, the driveway and sidewalk
are cleared, now. I only waited until it got to -10 degrees, since my wife needed to go over to her mom's with the car. Not too bad, really. No wind, and I had my lumberjack hat with the flaps pulled down and tied over my ears.

That, and the big -30 degree Lands End parka did the trick, along with the flannel lined jeans and the big waterproof snow boots. The only things that got cold were my fingers, and five minutes back in the house fixed that.

So, cold be damned! Bring it on!

13. Makes me laugh every year. Right about this time I start thinking, dang 10 degrees feels pretty good
and 30 starts feeling like a heatwave. We don't have it quite as bad as you yet, we're at 8 degrees outside, but everything you have is coming my way. Grrrr.
