I could be going to yoga with my favorite instructor (sorely needed after hours of shoveling yesterday). But instead I'm going to lunch for my f-i-l's birthday. He chose Ditka's restaurant. As in Mike Ditka, the meathead Republifuck former Bear's coach.

We would never force our relatives to go to some super lefty hipster city restaurant when we invite them out, but of course when it's their turn to choose they don't give a moment's thought to the possibility that maybe we would never go to a place like Ditka's. Sigh..

I just wish they gave us the same consideration we give them. Like I said, I wouldn't dream of asking them to go somewhere that they clearly wouldn't enjoy. I would try to choose something we all could enjoy. That's all. It was fine, I lived through it, even when the guy at the next table starting going on about something he saw on Fox News. :eyes:

They idol-worship him. I remember seeing all these posts after the election on FR about Ditka being the next Ronald Reagan :wtf: and how Ditka would have destroyed Obama had he run for the Senate in 2004.
