WTF??? The Brazilian media thinks Karolina Kurkova is FAT.
This crap pisses me off. Just about all runway models are too thin, but in the pics posted in the link below, Kurkova actually looks healthy. :grr:

http://chattahbox.com/curiosity/2009/01/09/fat-police-target-supermodel-karolina-kurkova/

Recently voted Sexiest Woman in the World by E!, Karolina Kurkova, has come under scrutiny and criticism by the Brazilian media for appearing too fat on the runway.

An article in a Brazilian paper about the leggy 5′11″ Kurkova described how “shocked” the audience was when she appeared looking uncharacteristically chubby with “cellulite on her butt.”

2. That certainly isn't fat.
She looks healthy. A big no-no in the modeling world.

4. The audience was shocked because they are used to seeing
stick thin women on the runway. She looks pretty damn good to me.

than the concentration camp look. I like my women to have a little meat on their bones.

6. Okay... you all will kill me...
She's very, very thin, but her bottom doesn't look very toned. And the suit they made her wear is too small for her.

8. She is NOT fat, but I think that bathing suit is really ugly.
She's fine, she just needs a better bathing suit.

10. you're right
I'm not sure what type of body one would need to make that suit look good. The colors, the shape, the cut...it's all bad.

11. It's a Size 2 suit on what might be a Size 8 woman.
BTW: Did you know that Cindy Crawford modeled at a Size 8???

15. Models were hot back then
Cindy Crawford, Elle McPherson, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista and many others were not sickly looking! In the early 90's, it was common to see these women strut a runway, pose in the SI swimsuit edition, and star in cheesy George Michael music videos. Models today are several sizes smaller and look like refugees.

17. Even when the waif look was in, they weren't as small as they are now.
Even Kate Moss had curves. And she is only 5'6".

12. Designers are lazy
to be considered talented they ought to be able to make clothing that looks good on women who aren't a size 2. Let's face it, like it or not the average American woman is size 14. How ridiculous is it that there's this huge industry that caters to such a small segment of the American population while it alienates a great majority of the rest?

16. They do make those things in bigger sizes. Probably not a 14 though.
They use the models as mannequins. For whatever reason, they believe their clothes are better shown on poles. They could save lots of money and just use some good ole rebar!

18. yeah, it's some weird theory that models should be walking hangers
The clothes always look better on a woman with curves though. I would rather watch a red carpet event for the clothes over a runway event any day for this reason. Granted, actresses aren't average, but they have far more curves than models today and the clothes almost always look better on them because of it.

I consider Queen Latifa curvy.

22. That's because you're a sane human being
Even though I'm not a Spears fan, it broke my heart when everyone labeled her fat at the VMA's a few years ago. Nevermind that she seemed drugged and didn't seem to want to be there...everyone focused on the body of a woman who has had 2 children and compared it to when she was 17.

Something about it didn't do her justice. News flash. Most guys like a little meat. Doing a bag of bones is painful. :puke:

she's not anywhere close to being the sexiest woman in the world in my eyes, and she couldn't have picked a worse-looking or less flattering swimsuit.
