Please help ban dihydrogen monoxide
http://www.dhmo.org/facts.html

Each year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of dollars in damage to property and the environment. Some of the known perils of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:

-Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.
-Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.
-Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.
-DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
-Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.
-Contributes to soil erosion.
-Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals.
-Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits.
-Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
-Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.
-Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere.
-Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect.

12. I do not mean to offend you.
I believe that the water ban was first introduced years ago as a high school science project. It is a great tool to show how easily things are distorted through presentation, and it is funny. You just did not seem to be presenting it either way. I was curious what you had posted it for.

10. I Used To Live on Mars
It's true what they say -- Men are From Mars.

I used to live there, and I (and several other guys) signed just such a petition.

That's why we all had to come here to Earth.

13. Very funny.
Reminds me of the old Organic Chemists' disngenuous argument when confornted with say, the toxicity of benzene and it's inadvisability of putting it say...in infant formula.

It goes something like this:

"But ANY chemical reagent is dangerous when used the wrong way. You can drown in a pail of water."

Not sure whether you were being funny or trying to make a point, but as a Molecular Biologist I can damn sure tell you that not all reagents are "equally as damaging" to human beings and certainly a lot worse will happen to you if you stick your head in a bucket of benze, even for a few seconds.
