9. With the little German I remember
Edited on Sat Jan-10-09 12:03 PM by Kajsa
I believe he said " and the studio cat is also happy to hear( can't make out the rest- something about a clearing up in the weather)".

"Der studio katzen"- I knew it! He's a studio cat.

Mr. Kitteh acted like he knew him and the surroundings,
no fear there whatsoever.

:D

13. At the end the man also said something about the cat
and thick fur. I didn't catch the beginning part but probably something like he hopes the cat has thick fur (because of the cold weather.)

16. That's all I got too (my High School German is rusty)
he said something about the cat at the end too, but I couldn't quite catch it.

Any German speaking DUers out there? Where's Karenina?

17. I would love the find out what

he said in between what was understood.

My guess is, most of it was the weather report,
but who knows?

He got Mr. Studio Cat right in there with the
report.

I love it!

:D

2. I saw that last night!
Both KO and KNBC-LA showed this
clip, but it was a shorter version.

The meteorologist didn't skip a beat
in his report, yet notice how relaxed
the kitty is?

This is adorable, what a nice guy he is.
:loveya:

Thanks for sharing this.

:) :hi:

14. I say this is a copy of the original cat, Syracuse's own Doppler:

Wayne Mahar
Chief Meteorologist

wmahar@CNYcentral.com
Wayne Mahar

School: National Weather Service
Hometown: Brunswick, Maine

Wayne has been Chief meteorologist at WSTM since January 1985. At that time he became the first fulltime meteorologist on Central New York television, which began a whole new era of taking television weather more seriously. A couple of other rather unique situations that have developed with Wayne over the years are The Weather Outside, and Doppler the Weather Cat. WSTM is one of only a dozen or so TV stations across the country that does the weather outside on the Weather Deck, no matter how cold or snowy it might be in the winter. On the Weather Deck with Wayne a few times each week is Doppler, a tradition which developed about eight years ago when a stray cat wandered onto the Weather Deck one evening while Wayne was live on the air. In case you didn't realize, that worked out well as Wayne is an animal lover and has had a variety of dogs and cats all his life.

I gauge the intensity of the next day's weahther by Wayne Mahar's accent. The more snow and wind we're going to get, the broader his Maine accent gets!
