Poll question: Help me decide! Which room to clean first?
Ok, I have a guest arriving tomorrow who will be staying for a few days, and this place is a mess! Clutter, clutter, clutter...dusty, arrrrgh. So I have to clean it up!

Problem is, I'm supremely unmotivated and can't decide where to start! Help me decide!

1. Always start in the kitchen
ONce that's done, everything else usually seems to fall into place nicely. (That's how it seems to me anyway.)

2. See, I usually end in the kitchen...
But my motivation issue is preventing me from even tackling this place...ugh.

3. This is how I get motivated:
Set a timer for one half hour. Get to work and do whatever you, wherever you can. Take out trash, wash some dishes, dust.... whatever needs to be done. After the half hour is up you get a break. Drink some coffee, read a few pages in a book, put your feet up. But if you're still going strong after the time is up keep going. Repeat as necessary.

I know a half hour doesn't sound like much but you'll be surprised how much can be done in that time and I find I can do just about anything for a half hour. So roll up your sleeves and give it a try. :) Good luck and enjoy your time with your guest.

13. that's how I feel - that and the living room are the rooms I most want to tidy
up for guests...

The computer room is another story - I only vacuum in there, it's like the men's cave.... :scared:

8. Bathroom first, 'cuz it's the nastiest
And after that, everything else will be a piece of cake. Also, cleaning it first will allow the Clorox fumes to dissipate.

11. I went with the kitchen.
If I were doing it, I would do the kitchen and living room today. Those rooms aren't rooms that your guest will be using much.

I would want the spare room and bathroom immaculate - so I would do them last. Like right before they arrive.

Just my 2 pennies. :)
