My two year old is very, very sick tonight.
This makes me very sad.

Nothing like seeing a wee one without the will do do anything. All he says is 'maybe later' and 'no thank you', and all he does is sit with his head on the pillow, staring off at nothing. His fever is still at safe levels, but it just makes me sad to see him this way.

He's napping right now, but his coughing has kept waking him up today.

:(

4. I spent 7 hours in the emergency room with my 2 year old last night
His fever had gotten really high and the nurses on the Children's Healthcare hotline thought it best for us not to wait to get to the doctor's office today. He's got strep throat.

It is terrible to have to see him just laying there not wanting to get up and play.

Bless the poor babies. I hope your little one is better soon.

26. Well, I am not too excited about the weather. ElderGreenKid started middle school
b-ball this year and has missed more games and practices. *shaking head* He's pretty disappointed so far.

Bit worried about tomorrow. I hear the roads are quite slick and it's hubby's longest day out driving around for work. :(

10. You were like that when you had pneumonia
glassy-eyed and not moving from your blanket on the floor. You were a sick little girl.

18. Me too. I'll know if he pounces on me or not at 6am.
If I wake up with a wet diaper butt in my face and demands of cereal, then I will know all is well.

And at this age, it really traumatizes them. He's just too little to understand.

20. You know what's funny though?
As I sit here, even though the coughing means he's sick, I listen for the coughs, because when I hear a cough, I feel relieved, because it means he's well enough to cough in the first place, and he's fighting it. Daft, eh?

Gah, parenting is nerve wracking.
