1. For me, it's a no-brainer. Books. Although there are a couple of CDs I'd
like...but no, I'd have to go with books.

2. Any recommendations come to mind?

I just finished A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (sp?) -- it was amazing and heartbreaking and totally beautiful. Much recommended if you haven't read it!

17. I haven't, thanks for the tip!
One of my all-time favorites, read and re-read it, is "In This House of Brede" by Rumer Godden. It's an oldie, but I love it.
My daughter is a real fan of "The Omnivore's Dilemma" and just got done with "Dreams from My Father."

4. You know your own tastes better than anyone
What do you WANT to get?

It's not like these will be your last purchases in the entire world.

9. Husband won one at his office festivus, he promptly gave it to me.
I, so far, have purchased Ice Age 1 and 2 for my five-year-old niece; Ice Age 1 is now her favorite movie. They don’t expire, so I will save the rest until I can’t find what I want in the stores, or need a gift and am too lazy to get up from the computer.

For you? I vote good, warm socks!

16. Well, the thing about books is that most of them are fairly easy to find used, at a much reduced
price. I HATE paying full price for books. Our library systems booksale is HUGH!!1! and the prices way low.(And of course, you can get 'em for free at your library, then you don't have piles of 'em all over the house, like me. :-) )

So maybe something else that you really want, that you can't find cheaper elsewhere.
