Someone else was just laid off at my old place of employment
Ugh. They are doing it SO slowly and painfully. Nobody knows what is going on or who will be next. The whole place is living in fear.

1. What a horrible way to operate
There's nothing more demoralizing than keeping an entire business on tenterhooks. I'm so sorry, Lucky. That sucks. :(

2. Sorry you're having to go through this.
I worked for a large homebuilder in the 80's and remember the black Friday's.

Although I was thankful that I wasn't one of the ones let go, the overall emotional impact of watching friends lose their livelihood can be devastating to those left behind.

I wish you (and all employed with you) the best.

3. that's such a crappy thing to do
the same thing happened at my old job. in early october they announced layoffs were coming, but didn't actually do it until after thanksgiving. my friends were really freaked out.

Everyone just cringes when they see Mgmt walking through the department.
