Is Val Kilmer the future of Brad Pitt?
Edited on Mon Jan-05-09 04:42 PM by MrScorpio
I have feeling that Val is what he fears when he looks into his own future

1. No, Val is just a little crazy, and Brad is too "Metrosexual" to look like that.

5. Ain't nothing wrong with that.
A lot of mean-spirited posts here lately regarding people's figures. I guess all the critics are perfect.

8. hey, I'm as senstive to weight issues as anyone else but...
movie stars are paid insane amounts of money to look good. It's not just or even mostly about their weight. I'm not saying the system is right but sheesh if I was being paid that much I'd be in the gym every freakin' day!

14. They probably do go to the gym a lot.
But when they're not working, they, most likely, slack off like you and I do. Maybe it was for an upcoming role--the weight gain. We don't know, but yet a lot here are so quick to pass judgment.

20. It's part and parcel of the Hollywood life, for better or worse
For what they make in one movie, I could retire to a nice island somewhere, so I'm not exactly sympathetic to people who say they get too much attention and judgment. They could retire into obscurity, move out of LA/NY, and live like the rest of us and I wouldn't say a damn thing about their potbellies

6. Brad's only 4 years younger!
They almost have the same birthday in December. I think it's all mental. When I first saw Pitt, I thought I was looking at Val; this was on the poster for "Cool World", a animated feature (don't call it a "cartoon") that came out 20 years ago. Is Val a better actor? I don't know, but he is playing the part of "tortured genius" ala Brando pretty well with his going on TV just to quote the Bible, and gaining weight.

7. Alas, Val has not aged well :(
This:

used to be this:

and this:

and let's not forget Val's BEST WORK:

As another posted pointed out, Brad is only 4 years younger so I think he's on a Cloony path, not the dark scary Mickey Roarke spiral

9. So he looks only 4 weeks more pregnant than I look.
I've seen people half my age with tummies twice as big and they aren't preggers.

I saw a bloke on youtube reviewing an old Atari 2600 video game, my age, and his gut hangs down to his knees. (well, almost)

Besides, everybody ages. Real life isn't "Death Becomes Her". Fortunately.

12. Val Kilmer's aged much more realistically.
I admire that.

13. to each her own.
I think they're both hot and if Val did a few crunches and took care of his skin a bit, he'd be in Brad's league easily. They're paid to look hot. At least they don't have as much pressure to be thin as the female stars do, at least once they're established stars. George Clooney has a little Buddha belly? Awww how cute! Holy shit Kathleen Turner has a double chin! BURRRRRRRRRRRN HERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

15. "They're paid to look hot."
Brad Pitt's paid to look hot.

Val Kilmer's paid to be an actor.

18. ummm...neither one is really in Geoffrey Rush territory
I would rank them about equal in terms of acting abilities. We can go round and round on this one, but that's where I stand.

And just for the record, I totally get why Angelina Jolie went for Billy Bob Thornton. His personality and acting ability are fucking sexy.

He's one of the great working actors.

22. I've seen a lot of his stuff over the years
He's done dogs and he's done a lot of great stuff. I still like him a lot. Last thing I saw was his ridiculous portrayal of Philip in Alexander. Didn't win many points with me.

16. If he can get through the training at Juilliard, I suppose.
I've never really thought of the two of them in the same way. I have great appreciation for Kilmer's acting chops and Pitt's movie star chops.

I don't see anything. Looks like any other guy on the beach. He's got more teeth than the ones I'm used to seeing down here in NC and SC, but meh...
