You don't have to be a fan to be sad to see these:







The last time I had the chance to go there was a few weeks before 9/11. I took my cruiser from Albany to Flushing Bay via the Hudson (you can see Shea in the background):


I also took this shot of the WTC - it was 8/28/01:

Ugly-ass 1960s cookie cutter stadium, and site of the 1986 World Series. Screw that hellhole.

2. Of course, the new park is more aesthetically pleasing...

...but Shea housed the great Met heroes like Seaver, Koosman, Kranepool, Harrelson, Agee, Cleon Jones, Kingman, etc. For that, it will always have my affection.
