Well, not really. She just asked me who has the least odious stance on gay marriage. I told her Kucinich. And I told her that Kerry used the old "marriage is for children" bullshit.

I have no idea who she'll vote for.

My nephew cast his first vote today. He would only tell me that he voted for someone named John.

I miss my family so much it hurts.

I don't think, however, that he'll be sending gov't money to "reparative therapy" organizations or passing any FMA-type bullshit. That's a small speck of light in the darkness, but at least it's something.

5. Kerry's stance on gay marriage is disappointing. BUT...

But...President Kerry will listen to us. President Kerry will at least do that. And Kerry will be good on gay issues as a whole. He's gotten a 100% favorable rating from the HRC on his votes in the Senate on gay issues (ENDA, hate crimes legislation)

In his speech to his supporters last night, Kerry castigated Bush for supporting the FMA. Good for him.

Sweetie, Kerry is far from perfect on same-sex marriage. But overall he'll be a friend to us overall in the White House. And Lord almighty, what a change that will be after these past 4 miserable years.
