3. No...me too.
I'm weird because I refuse to put them away...ever. I wash them and then use them from the dishrack. I also can't do laundry unless I'm home alone.

I find washing a few dishes in warm, soapy water to be relaxing... as long as the cheese isn't dried on.

25. But do you rotate them as you use/wash them?
When my mom was recovering from sugery, my dad took over some household type duties. My sister and I were there one afternoon and started putting dishes away when the dishwasher had finished. We were putting the plates on the top of the stack and my dad hauled ass over to the cupboard and said, "No! No! You put the newly washed dishes on the BOTTOM of the stack!"

My sister and I made so much fun of him 'cause you know, my mom had been handling that chore for 25 years just fine (my dad had not touched a plate other than to remove food from it with a FORK) without rotating the dishes, glasses, silverware and we had all lived to tell the tale up to that point in our lives. Now THAT is weird, but you can rest easy.

28. you know what
I did that today because as I was putting them away I realized that because I live alone, I use the one plate on top a lot more than I do the others. So, I rotated them...

37. The other possibility is that you do not have a dishwasher.
This old house has no spot for one so I never missed it. When I visit and I ask what I can do to help cleaning up after a meal, I always qualify my offer by explaining that I don't load dishwashers, I don't know how. Tell me, at 66, isn't this a little embarrassing?

I make up for it in other ways, we all have our own talents, I guess.

41. Come to my house please.
I will scrub the toilet, sweep and mop the floors, dust the entire house, clean the baseboards, but do not dare ask me to wash any damn dishes. I HATE it. Luckily, my husband doesn't mind to. I wouldn't say he gets satisfaction from it. Plus we pretty much use the dishwasher.
