1. buy it anyway, and here is why....

what you can do, is just pause a show for like five or ten minutes, go do the dishes or check the mail. Then when you come back, you can watch it and fast foward through the commercials or something you don't want to see. I got tivo a month or so ago and it is great. One problem though is that it tends to record stuff you don't want to see, and it will try to record things on channels you don't get. Either way, I dig it, and am very stoked I got it...Kevin.
