Damn my back hurts!

I could barely get out of bed this morning. It has gotten worse during the day. I couldn't tie my shoes. I am using a cane. This is the third big flare-up of an injury from a 1968 jeep wreck, but not quite the worse. An orthopedic surgeon in Dallas did MRIs a couple of years ago and said it looked like I had had an old fracture of the pars element of the L-5 vertebra, whatever that means.

The big problem is, I'm at the mountain house without any Advil. My back is too bad to drive. I have aspirin, but I can't tolerate the dosage that might help this pain. I have a muscle relaxer, Flexoril, from a previous bout. I'll soon take 1/2 of a 10-mg Flexoril. That will wipe me out.

I'm just bitchin'. I'll call a neighbor tomorrow for some Advil. Meanwhile, I'll be doing DU on Yellow Tail Shiraz and Flexoril. Beware!

I'll be 50 in a couple of months... my back has bothered me for years but the emphasis is on "bothered". Nothing like what you have to put up with.

I'll be 56 in 28 days. Today, I feel 86. I usually hike at least two hours a day in the mountains here (with the dogs). I'm in great shape. My back is not.

Pfft. Beware, nothin'. You'll be asleep in an hour.

Hope you feel lots better when you wake up. Nothing works better for me than Flexoril and lying down for 8 hours.

I know from previous bouts that it is self-limiting. It is just that I have so much to do right now. What a bitch!
