this area is really, really quiet, and neither one of us wants to drive 1+ hours into Asheville. We'll stay off the roads, have some champagne, and celebrate with our kitties.

How about you? How're you doing?

We'll probably do what we refer to as "celebrate East Coast New Year's" at the stroke of 9 pm 'cuz we're middle aged and have kids and we don't want to stay up to midnight socializing.

Sad -- yes.

40. Just started thinking about it
I think I am going to spend tonight, having a few beers. I will give a cheer and will remember all the different people that had a positive impact on my life, helped me through tough times, or helped me learn the better things I would like to try and be.

Then on New Years Eve, I will spend the time with people I know, celebrating those that have a positive influence on me now, with hope for meeting more people in the future.

52. I'm going to walk down to my "new" house by myself,
unlock the door, and pop a bottle of champagne to toast to my new life. Then I'll come back here feeling sorry for myself but also pumped for the future. Woohoo. It does seem a fitting end to a bitch of a year, and to the start of something completely new.
