I was harrassed by a Cowpies fan in the Wawa parking lot this morning.

A Cowpies fan with Pennsy plates, mind you.

He started with me in the checkout line first. It seems he didn't care much for the Brian Westbrook jersey I'm wearing. He's standing right behind me and says "You better hope they're not relying on Jackson to get you to a SuperBowl - he tends to spike the ball before he gets into the endzone. And all you got left is a running game - you must be praying that nothing happens to Westbrook for the next few weeks, since he's pretty much all you got".

I turned around and looked at him. Cowpies jacket, cap, and a smirk on his face; but I didn't have to say anything - the two guys in front of me took care of all that. I thought it was over.

So I'm walking back out to my car, and Cowpie guy isn't far behind me. Before I continue, here's a pic of my car:



I'm opening up the car door when he says "You even had your CAR painted in Eagles green? Are they really worthy of such an expense?"

And being that I'm still kinda sick and everything, I had finally had enough - and I kinda went off on him. Oopsie. :P

51. As a lifelong Cowboys fan, I'd like to say a few things.

First, to the OP: I'm really sorry you encountered such a jerk. We're all reeling from Sunday's game, but that's no excuse to be nasty to anyone, and I'm sorry you had to deal with that. He doesn't represent the majority of Cowboys fans, however, so please don't lump us all in with that asshole.

Second, no, we don't have a sense of entitlement. We don't expect everybody to roll over and let us win. But keep in mind, we traditionally have had VERY good teams (five superbowl wins, remember), so it's a little hard during the years when we don't do so well. It's not entitlement--we're just accustomed to winning, because we usually do (or at least have a solid winning record for the season). When we don't, we're all a bit surprised and sad.

Third, we're not evil assholes, and it gets a little old seeing that spouted again and again and again. We love our team. LOVE our team. We're enthusiastic about our team (I grew up in Dallas, but have also lived in DC and LA--YOU try being a Cowboys fan in DC, and see how much fun it is). You love your team, too, and I don't think you're an asshole. I just think you're a devoted fan. 'Cause you are.

Fourth, we didn't start that "America's Team" nonsense. NFL Films did, so take it up with them.

I congratulate the Eagles on their win Sunday, as much as it pained me to listen to it. Now I just hope Jones gets a clue and gets rid of Phillips. When you have as much talent on a team as we did this year, the blame for not winning lies squarely on the coach's shoulders.
