When is the best time to plan a trip to the Northeast?
I would really like to drive across the country, see DU'ers, visit the northeast where I've never been (been everywhere else) and just have a good time with people.

:grouphug:

:hi:

where should I go, who should I see?

Mrs. Grumpy is in Houston, :( So I'll have to go there another time.

:D

1. Fall...
people come 1000 miles to visit the town I grew up in to see the fall foliage.

Now if by the northeast you mean NJ, NYC, Boston and Philly...I don't know that it matters except that you want to avoid the large cities in the dead of winter, they turn into chilly wind-tunnel canyons.

8. That's hard to say...
weather is worst in the winter obviously...

I like visiting my brother in NYC in the spring or fall.

I've been a few times in the winter and it wasn't horrible (NYC is on the ocean so it's not as cold as say Detroit) but the weather was still pretty cold.

That said there's still plenty to do in NYC at any time of year.

Of course you might not be going to NYC but somewhere else...

You might also want to be looking at the cost of the trip etc too so it's really a hard thing for someone else to tell you.

19. October
The weather is good, and the foliage is at its peak.

April is usually nice, but it can be dicey. It tends to rain a lot, and if winter was rough, the snow melt creates some hellacious pits of mud and muck.
