Adventures in Freecycling!

How many have any odd stories about going through any "Freecycle" groups?

I belong to our Sheboygan Yahoo one, and have got rid of a ton of stuff I wasn't using.
Also got some great stuff too, like my megaboom computer speakers. :headbang:

But I see some odd or simply greedy "Wanteds," like cars.
Not beater cars, cars 5 years old or newer!

Same for TV's, stereos, etc.

And giving away just plain junk.
Like cars with burned out motors, TV's that don't work anymore, etc.

I have one guy mad at me, he had been stringing me along for nearly 2 weeks, kept promising to show up then didn't.
Now he's got a new story, for why he didn't pick up the compact flash card I'm offering.

Hello, don't you have friends or family who could pick it up for you?

1. I wait a day or two and then email the next respondent.

I figure if you can't be bothered to come get a free item at my convenience you probably don't want it that badly.

Other than that I keep my interactions with people minimal. I usually just put whatever the item is out on my porch (it's covered and dry) around the time they say they'll show up.
