I am listening to coal miner's daughter and god I love this woman. I don't really care for the likes of toby keith or about 80% of country music but she is wonderful.

She has a recent album that she made with the guy from the White Stripes (I think that's who it is). It's pretty good.

You should see the movie based on her autobiography. I don't know how true a portrayal it is, because I didn't read the book, but the film is astonishing.

the Toby Keith "mainstream" stuff isn't. If you like the stylings of Ms. Lynn, you should do a search for "alternative country". These are the performers who aren't 'pop'.
