Now if it turns out you've returned from Italy, Texas, I may have to smack you.

They do have a decent Stuckey's, though. Perfect for those road trips to Austin or San Antonio.

6. Where in Italia had you been?
I was in Calabria myself a few months back--it's like my home, where I don't speak the language or even understand entirely my family (by marriage, my husband is Italian)--I'm kind of keen to hear from another 'merican who's been there and back! And hear from another whether they felt both as warmly received and weirdly "duck out of water" as I sometimes did!

It is a beautiful country, but I hope you spoke the bella lingua better than I did. (To this day, my nieces and nephews have the least idea of my esteem for them. I regret this terribly. But I've never really had the time to learn the language--much as I'd love to really let them know how I've loved their hospitality, and such.)
