Some Good News Regarding the Burglary.....
:bounce::bounce:

I found some of the pieces they took :woohoo:

I found a necklace in the driveway.

I found a ring in the snow AFTER the plow guy pushed it up against the tree :wow:

I found a little porcelain box that was missing, under my bed and the jewelry therein :bounce::bounce:

I am still down my antique diamond engagement ring, a pair of diamond earrings, my wedding ring and some other good quality rings, BUT, they did not get my grandmother's sapphire and diamond ring.

I am so thrilled that some of the pieces we thought were gone turned up, but it leads me to think that they were still in the house when I pulled in the driveway and they tore out the door like gangbusters.

My door has been replaced, and the security people are coming Monday to give me a quote.

I am still really considering another dog - one that will not be crated and will make someone think twice before coming in my house.

2. oh, I'm so glad some of the pieces are still there!
hopefully some of the others will show up at pawn shops, so you get them back! Or better still, the police track everything down!

I say get that dog. It'll be worth it to have another friend in the house. :bounce:

5. I have been cruising Craigslist and EBay too
as was suggested by a DUer.

Some of the things I found were the estate pieces, so it makes me feel so much better.

And that dog thing is gonna happen - I can feel it :bounce:

I hope you find the rest!

Once you've got the dog, you have to post pics, so we can all ooh and ahhh.

3. Until you decide on getting a dog, get a "Beware of Dog" sign
and display in prominently. Many burglars, unless targeting a place specifically, won't even go near the house because of the noise potential.

Glad you found some of your treasured items.

7. I'm glad some of the stuff turned up
And yes, get a dog. From the pound. :D

Better yet, get three. I think my dogs would DESTROY anyone who came in the house. :bounce:

10. I'm so glad you found at least some of your stuff
Scary thought to think they may have been inside when you got home, though. Security AND a dog sounds good to me, if only for your peace of mind.

11. My dear malta blue!
What outstanding news!

I am thrilled for you, sweetie!

And what are the odds of you finding stuff outside, IN THE SNOW?

A holiday miracle, for sure!

14. Jesus, my friend! I am so sorry!
But I am very pleased to hear that you found some of your precious things. I sure know what it's like to me missing things that are important to you and mean so much. Rather than getting a large dog, you might consider a security system. At least the little guys would get along with that and it won't have to be walked... ;)
