Good Morning, Lounge!
Edited on Wed Dec-17-08 08:14 AM by blueraven95
I haven't seen MissHoneychurch on here today, and I'm missing her thread, so I thought I'd put up a second-rate one today. Hopefully she won't mind!

How are you all today?

My staff Holiday lunch is today, so we are looking forward to slacking off!

no picture, because I don't have anything in Photobucket that is new. (I told you this was an inferior thread, didn't I?)

:hi:

1. Good morning blueraven95!
Nice of you to step in for MissH! I heard she's recouping and will be back soon.

Slacking off at work, especially during the holidays should be an annual tradition.

Enjoy your staff holiday lunch!

We have our department holiday party tomorrow and get to leave at 4:00 p.m. :woohoo:

:hi:

2. Good morning, Simply Fugue!
I agree, slacking off should be a tradition. Of course, for some reason, my department planned a huge event a week after New Years, so unfortunately, we aren't goofing off as much as we would ordinarily be. We are allowing ourselves this one afternoon!

I hope your department party is awesome!

:hi:

6. Oh yes, our group
likes to party, especially when we don't have to plan it.

I'm confident everyone will have a good time.

Wishing you a great day.

I miss MissHC's thread, too. Thanks for starting one!

Here's a pic for you ... I took it Sunday morning.

4. Good Morning, AirmensMom!
What a fantastic sunrise!

I always mean to get shots of the sunrise on the way to work, and I never remember to grab my camera.

How are you today?

9. Thanks!
We "camped out" in the basement in front of the fire, or we would have missed it entirely. Harleydad's first words that day were, "There's a beautiful sunrise this morning." So I grabbed my camera but had to take the pic through the window because the house alarm was set (no keypad on the basement door yet).

Now I'm going to be waiting for you to put your camera in your car for some on-the-way-to-work sunrise shots. :bounce:

I'm fine, thank you. Just got off the phone to complain that my oven has been broken since before Thanksgiving and now that the part is in, they won't be coming back until January 2! :grr: I complained nicely, though, and they're trying to do something about it ... and aren't going to send the same repair company back. Good thing harleykid is cooking Christmas dinner at her house.

11. I'm a walk to work person, so it's remembering to put the camera by the door
and grabbing it on the way out. (I'm not a morning person, so I tend to forget things on the way out, but I'll do it, I promise.) :)

I can't believe they still haven't fixed your oven :grr: That's ridiculous! I'm glad you are doing Christmas somewhere else then!

12. Walk to work?
How cool is that! :bounce: So you must live pretty close by! OK, so put it by the door ... can't wait for some pics. :D

At least the guy agreed with me that it's unacceptable. I would REALLY have been steamed if he said it was typical to wait that long. On the bright side ... can't make any Christmas cookies to tempt myself with.

Holiday lunch today? Slacking off? Sounds like fun! Do you all bring something to eat? :9

13. Yeah,
I am less than 4 blocks from work and I LOVE it! :bounce: I don't even have a car...it would be a waste of money to keep.

At least he agreed! If he hadn't I would have been on my way over to make him see reason! I don't know what they think - you need an oven. Period. No excuses.

We had our department holiday party last week, where everyone brought dishes (I cheated and brought store bought cookies, but only because my mother had surgery the day before and I was with her the evening before). It got pretty exciting, because we have a very multi-cultural group, so there was food from around the world. I tried some stuff I'd never had before which was awesome, and somebody made the best banana pudding EVER.

Today the staff are going to a nearby restaurant. We figured that we didn't need to work (i.e. cook) for our own party. :P We'll exchange gifts, that kind of thing.

14. That's so cool!
:bounce:

You know, it doesn't bother me a whole lot not to have an oven ... given that I don't use it every day anyway. But it scares me that if it were my refrigerator or washing machine that broke and I had to wait over a month, I'd be in deep doodoo. All the appliances in our last house lasted for 12 years (and are still going, as far as we know) without a single problem. We've had trouble with three of them so far in this house. All brand new. Oh well. It'll be fixed one day.

Oh, that sounds like a really nice holiday party! My daughter makes awesome banana pudding. Wonder if it's the same recipe. :9 Good thinking to go to a restaurant! I hope it's lots of fun! :bounce:

I don't think MissH will mind at all, in fact she will probably be honored that you are stepping in for her.

We are having our company holiday luncheon today as well.

I'm hoping she'll be honored, but I'm really not too worried about it. :D

Hurray for those of us who get a break today!
