2. Not sure about that...
Perhaps he just passed out from the smell?

(Yes, I am running off and hiding now...how did you know?)

4. Is the cat black?
:hide:

Actually, I was unaware you had recently acquired a kitteh? Is this a new kitteh?

7. I acquired two kittehs (fully grown ones) back in February.
One of them is cuddly, only when he is in the mood. The other one is (I think) either a former feral, or a cat that may have been abused by a hooman.

5. What is it about cats and bathrooms? And feet?
My wife and I have had this cat for 3 years now, who is just the most beautiful little calico girl. When she darted out between two cars and meowed at us to make us stop our bicycles, I just had to take her home. I just know she loves us and appreciates the money we've had to spend on her health issues, yet the only time we can really pet her is when she comes up to us when we're on the pot, OR if she decides to sleep on or between our legs all night. If we just randomly pick her up, no matter how much baby talk we use or how gentle we are, she just gets this "deer in the headlights" look of abject terror and starts trying to get away within a minute. Same thing if I put her up here on the computer table in front of me. She won't hunker down and relax and let me give her a kitty massage. Nope, nuh-uh, no way!

Silly little weasel-ass cat....

8. You just described my Mouse.
Funny thing is, Mouse is a BIG boi! But he is very afraid. May have been a "domesticated" feral.

11. I have my own theory about our Taz.
Since the place where we lived at the time was a huge complex of weekly/monthly efficiencies with terrible crime/drug/prostitution/etc issues, our Taz might have belonged to someone who rented a unit for a while and had an abusive person with them. When we found Taz she was overall in decent health but had one claw with a badly shredded nail and it was clear that she was used to humans.

I think that she had one human she really was bonded with, but one or more others in her early environment were terrible people who either abused her or her human, or both. That might be why coming to us on her terms is okay, because she knows we love her to pieces, but when we're holding her too closely it's a major violation of her "space" and evokes memories of being hurt by a nasty person.

But whatever the case, she socialized with our other cats fairly well after about 5 days and has been a great kitty for us. Deciding to pick her up and bring her home to our apartment was one of the best impulse decisions I've ever made, and it really scored lots of Awesome Points with my wife. :D
