Kitten question
I know there are lots of cat lovers here - can someone please suggest some (not too expensive) good food for kittens? It has been many years since I had any cats so I don't know if there are new brands out there that are considered good for the young ones. I remember something like Kitten Chow, and know my old cat liked it when she was little. I am most likely getting a kitten on Saturday and just want to make sure I get her some good food. I'll post pics when I have her :D

3. I use Natural Balance.

It's got good quality ingredients, but it's not so expensive that I have to beggar myself feeding four cats.

edit: Avoderm is another brand that's good quality, but not a super-premium price, as is Nature's Recipe. I've had good results with all three.

7. My kitten's on it.
Her vet wanted her on a kitten specific formula for higher protein, but she won't eat it. I just make sure to put some canned food down for her every day or two, in addition to her kibble, and she's crazy healthy.

5. When my kitties were babies I didn't start them on dry food for quite some time. And when I
did start them on it, I wet it down for them. (One of them choked on a piece of kibble when she was tiny. Made me very nervous, hence the extremely cautious feeding tactics. :P )

10. Oh, man. That was almost 15 years ago... But I bet it was whatever was cheap. We were
just married and barely scraping by. :D

Now I give them only wet and dry food from purina, ever since that contamination scare.

9. Canned food (if good quality -- no grains) is actually better for them.
There's less filler and more protein, so they are less likely to get fat or diabetic. Also there's a little less poo to deal with. I feed my guys Wellness canned food and Solid Gold Indigo Moon dry food. Cats weren't designed to digest corn.
