3. I heard the first half hour or so is silent.
Which is an interesting concept in 2008.

4. Not silent
just no dialogue.

And very damn daring in 2008

Most of the dialogue consists of the two principals thinking of creative ways to say the other's name. :D

5. Interesting.

I actually caught a Chaplin double feature (City Lights/Modern Times) at a local theater recently. Amazing how much more they said than most dialogue-filled movies that end up saying nothing.

EDIT: Since we're recommending movies, check out "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada."

It's directed by and stars Tommy Lee Jones. Very timely and low-key movie.

6. I didn't like it.
:hide:

Wall-E and Eve did nothing for me. I think it would have been a better movie if the ship's captain were the main character, but we didn't see much of him.

I think both The Incredibles and Ratatouille were both better movies.

I love Wall-E, but yeah, the Incredibles is well, incredible.

15. I did like the captain, though.
(Text in white below to avoid spoilers.)

In the end, he got off his fat ass and did something.

16. He was a great character...
one of the most moving parts of the movie for me is when he's learning about all the things people used to DO with their lives, and is in complete awe...

17. Seen it three times, plan to view it several more.
"Daring and traditional, groundbreaking and familiar, apocalyptic and sentimental, "Wall-E" gains strength from embracing contradictions that would destroy other films."
