Oh, the things you see (aka, Idiot Behind the Wheel of the Day)
Had to go down to the parking garage for a sec, and went the outside route. My office building is on a corner; the intersection has traffic lights. There was a guy who was signaling that he was going to parallel park (he was probably 5 car lengths from the intersection, so duh, he wasn't signaling that he was going to turn). The idiot behind him just sat there in his car, blocking the space that the other guy wanted to park in. The light turned green, and Idiot just sat there. Three more cars came up behind Idiot. All of them sat there. The guy who wanted to parallel park signaled for Idiot to go around him and continue on down the street. Idiot just sat there. The guy who wanted to parallel park finally gave up, because Idiot just didn't get it. After the guy who wanted to parallel park drove off, Idiot kept sitting there in his car, even though he could now proceed and even though the light in his direction was green.

Some people should never be allowed to get behind the wheel of a car. :eyes:

1. I am fully convinced that I am going to be killed by someone else's stupidity
It is not a happy thought.

3. OMG, same here.
Really, some people are just flat out scary behind the wheel, not because they necessarily drive to fast, but because the only know how to do stupid things while operating a vehicle.

4. Well, at least he could have put a sign in the window of the car,
like "Idiot on Board."

:)

5. Sounds like he was just trying to out-wait the other car and take the parking spot.
Especially since he kept sitting there after the other guy drove off, and waited for everybody else to go around him. People like that piss me off.

6. I really don't think he wanted that spot.
Once he finally engaged his brain (what little of it there is), he continued on down the road.

Nope, he was just an idiot.

7. People like that can cause road rage

Even if they don't have malice, only plenty of stupidity...even people one would consider "intelligent" sometimes display an appalling lack of awareness when they get behind the wheel.

8. Definitely.
Like the overly-cautious drivers (I think this particular idiot may fall into that category).

I do think you need to be aware of road conditions, traffic, potential hazards, etc., while out driving, but jeezily crow, being overly cautious can be just as bad as driving around like the proverbial bat out of hell.

People need to realize that there is a happy medium between the two ways of driving!
