Best cocoa?
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 10:34 AM by arcadian
I bought a box of the Land o'Lakes powder mix from Costco. It's passable. Not too bad, but I know there is better. It's the just add water kind. I haven't found a kind where you mix the milk in that is so great.

I love to steam milk in my espresso machine and make hot chocolate with this stuff.

5. Thirded
I have a canister in my cupboard right now that I haven't cracked yet this season. Might be time...

4. Best ever: homemade from a cocao plantation in Grenada
My ex was from that island. They would visit and bring back ground whole coco straight from a relative's farm compressed into balls and frozen.

We would grind a little off the ball, and cook it in milk and sugar with a stick of cinnamon. It has so much cocao solids that fat bubbles would float to the surface. (That's the part that is removed to make chocolate, the rest being sold to us as coco powder.)

I realized most of us have no idea what the real stuff actually tastes like.
