1. Difficult to answer. My gut reaction is "Smells like Teen Spirit" by Tori
Amos.

Maybe her heart was in the right place, but it came out all wrong.

It was like the second song I heard by her. In fact, to hell with you--I'm going to listen to it right now!

2. "Big Yellow Taxi" by Counting Crows. Adam Duritz could've saved himself some time...
and simply spat in Joni Mitchell's face instead. It would've had the same effect, with a lot less suffering on our parts.

9. Easy question. well maybe
Either Mariah Carey's version of the Nilsson (Ham and Evans composed I think) classic, Without You or Whitney Houston's butchering of Dolly Parton's I will Always Love You.

Both are examples of songbirds trying to show off and destroying a melody.

It fails on so many levels it's almost a win. Almost. Instead, it just sucks. Sucks like nothing has ever sucked before. If Don Henley were to punch that douchey lead singer in the nuts with a spiked gauntlet, nobody would blame him. I'm sure he'd even win a medal. From me, at least.

I'm a singer, and I know bad pitch when I hear it. If you google Lauryn Hill and "off-key" you'll find there are others who agree with me.

However, I DO agree with you about Mary K. Blige. Always off-pitch, and I could never understand why everybody goes so ga-ga for her singing.

56. Oh, I could go on and on with this list...
Sugarland's remake of Life In a Northern Town...
Tim McGraw's remake of... well, anything he's talentlessly barfed over, but lately his cover of Suspicions irks me most...
311's horrid attempt at Lovesong...
Celene Dion's remake of I Drove All Night
and while I could spend another eight or nine hours at this, I'll leave you with the song that makes me think of beating a talentless hack to death with a red cap...

Limp Bizket falling flat on their faces with Behind Blue Eyes...

109. Will To Power did a remake of 2 songs into 1 and it was HORRIBLE.......
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_to_Power_(band)

Will to Power is an American dance music group led by music producer, remixer, and DJ Bob Rosenberg. The group had several chart hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s, most notably 1988's "Baby, I Love Your Way / Freebird Medley (Free Baby)", a medley of Peter Frampton's "Baby, I Love Your Way" and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird", which was a Billboard #1 hit in 1988.<1>

119. There's so many of them. However, the one that
really jumps to mind right away is that unbearably horrible version of Bob Seger's "We've Got Tonight" by Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton. First of all, it was never, ever meant to be a duet at all. And second, the interpetation, music, singing, and every single other thing about it was just ear-splittingly painfully horrible. YUCK!
