You know, those before and after photo types. Some women I know won't walk out of the house unless they're face is totally made up. Even camping!!! "You'd look much prettier with some lipstick", "You really need to wear dark mascarra in order to bring out your eyes", "You really should use some blush, you look so pale. Are you sick?", "Your make-up is old fasioned, no one uses eye liner any more. The smokey look is in." "What? You're wearing make-up? I couldn't even tell." "So and so is really a plain Jane. She doesn't wear any make-up and can't understand why the boys don't ask her out.", "Hey little girl, comb your hair, fix your make-up. Soon, he'll be there at the door. Day after day, there are girls at the office, and men will always be men...." etc.
