1. I can't post what I'm giving, for obvious reasons.
;)

I have no idea what I'm getting. I rather need a new camera.

2. Still somewhat undecided.

I know I'm getting my boyfriend a nice white shirt or two, and making him some homemade cookies. :)

I don't know what I'm getting my friends, yet. I'll have to think about that.

As for my parents, well, my family celebrates Hanukkah, and my parents always told me not to get them anything. I'm probably getting them something this year, though.

As for what I want? Tea, Hello Kitty stuff, bath products from Lush (I am addicted to that store), books, Muppet-themed stuff, and rainbowy things.

On edit: There's a problem with buying the boyfriend shirts. I have no idea what size he is. And neither does he, apparently. Um, can anyone help me with this? He's a couple inches taller than me, 5'9 or 5'10 maybe, and kind of slim.

5. i know some of what i'm giving for gifts.
Gift cards to Legal Seafood

Booze for my husband, it's always the right size, never needs to be returned

A new robe for my Nana

and an Ipod for my niece.

For my daughter i have no idea, she needs to make some kind of list for me but she's already said "I don't really want anything Mom" which is not a good answer.

7. How old is she?
What are her interests? You could always donate to some cause she supports in her name, I've done that before when people have told me they want no gift. They've all been perfectly happy with that.

Of course, if your daughter is 10, that's another story...

16. Check out the NY Public Library web site.
They have lists of Best Books for Young Adults. If she's reading at an advanced level (and if she donates to WEAVE, she sounds pretty mature), there are also plenty of "Best of" adult books, as well. Good luck! :hi:

10. I get a kid off of one of those and LK and I go shop together for him/her.
It really doesn't cost that much, and I figure it's worth it just in the good precedent it sets for him in focusing on others and not being greedy. So far it seems to be working.

We also go through all his clothes and toys a few weeks before and donate all the stuff he's no longer using. I usually have to remind him that I'd rather he keep most of the toys he still likes, he gets to eager to help out.

Most of my family here, except for me, are Jehovah's Witnesses. I never got squat for Christmas. My sister celebrates it now that she has a baby boy. I think I'll shop for presents this year.

15. The only thing for sure, now is
a DVD of "Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas" for mom.

Great muppet family story. Mother Otter is a hero, a hard-worker just like my mom. :loveya:

17. My family and I decided to disengage from the consumerist bullshit and not give gifts
we'll be together, and, I suppose, I'll be gifting them with incredible food while they're here, and they'll gift me with their presence and whatever food they bring.

But we're not doing gifts.

However, my niece and nephew like sweets, so I will make them cookies and probably will still give them a gift certificate for the local candy shop they love.

I'll probably donate to Heifer Project for my secretary's gift, and for one of my good friends who loves gourmet food and cocktails and liquors as I do I got a new (incredibly pretentious and assholish) cocktail book, Artisanal Cocktails: Drinks Inspired by the Seasons from the Bar at Cyrus, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1580089216

Compliments on taste tests of food

Receiving:

Wow, I just re-read that. I could have just as easily been a dog.

20. I'll probably do some baking and some crafting...I make jewelry
and ornaments, and I love to bake, so yeah...

Get? I'd be thrilled if I could just have both the girls home, and the grandkids. I just love hanging out and doing all the family Christmasy stuff...sledding, hot chocolate, staying up really late and playing games, baking, snuggling on the couch in the morning with my granddaughter while she's still all sleepy, giving my grandson a hard time (in fun) 'cos he thinks he's too old to snuggle...

Honest, that's all I want.

'Course, I wouldn't turn DOWN a Barnes and Noble gift card...or a set of flannel sheets :-)
