How does one get urine out of a car seat?

2. Wash it out
and put grinded coffee underneath the seat. That will take away from the smell.

10. Oh, yeah . . . great stuff.
I wonder if I should just have a detailer shampoo it first...

I'll look for it at Bed Bath & Beyond. They have all those "seen on TV" things. Thanks

8. Borax, Save Your Money On Those "As Seen On TV"
Sprinkle the borax on the seat, take a wet( not too wet but not too dry) and rub the borax into the seat. Let dry then vacuum off. If it takes away cat urine, stain and smell, it will work on this.

9. Enzyme cleaners
bond with organic proteins and "digest" them; the remaining chemicals are less likely to bond with the fabric and flush/vacuum out.

"Zep", sold at Home Depot, is one example. Pet supply houses, online and in the mall, should carry enzymatic cleaners. They are often labeled as "odor-eliminating", but not all those are enzymatic.

They do reduce or eliminate odors and stains from blood, urine (including male-cat urine), vomitus and feces. I use them often.

Good luck, Bertha.

11. white vinegar works on cat urine
so I would try that. Liberally soak the spot with the vinegar and let it dry.

15. That's good, too. Sometimes I use vinegar on cat blankets
in the rinse cycle.

12. Odaban or Simple Green
Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 10:37 AM by flvegan
Never actually tried Simple Green on this, but it does take chicken crap out of upholstery so cat urine shouldn't be a problem.

17. Get pet mess cleaner. There are enzymes in that stuff that clean up biological
messes.
