Do you like heavy metal?

With all the heavy metal fans I've seen here, I thought this would be an interesting poll. I'd say I'm not a fan, but I like some. My ears are sensitive to many kinds. I like Ozzy, early Metallica, Lennon Murphy, and System Of A Down. Also early kinds like Led Zeppelin.

Especially classic bands like Sabbath, Maiden, Priest, and early Ozzy.

Also 80's thrash like Metallica (before they sucked), Slayer (still great), and death metal - Morbid Angel, Immolation, or Entombed, for starters.

Lots of other greats - Mercyful Fate, Sepultura, Carcass, Deicide, Bathory...

Perhaps you should get and of Black Sabbath's first 3 albums: the self-titled debut, "Paranoid", or "Master of Reality". They play blues better than early Zep (I like Zep better when they don't try ripping off the blues) on cuts like "Wizard", and everyone should have an anti-war song like "War Pigs" in their collection.

If you like vocals with soaring range, get Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast" or "Piece of Mind".

Since you have an ear for pop, and are interested in something hard-edged, get any of the first 4 Van Halen albums.

OTOH there were some crossover songs from the genre when punk rock:bounce: ruled.

I kinda like old Judas Priest out of that epoch.

I don't like much o fit, but can stand a few Black Sabbath songs, a few songs by others bands, etc.

My threshold seems to be about 40 minutes, but after about 20, I'm starting to be ready for almost anything else.
