My stepson is 13 and has just discovered the wonders of texting. He and his dad text each other pretty regularly.

After an Unfortunate Washing Machine Incident and the concomitant two-week phoneless period, my SO just got a new cell phone. He sent a text to his son letting him know he had a cell again. He received the following message back:

k zda bum

I search frantically on the Google for "zda" and "bum" and don't find any corresponding textspeak.

SO texts: Say again in English?

Stepson: What kind of phone did u get?

SO: "k zda bum" = "what kind of phone did you get?"

Stepson: That's my sig file.

We'd completely missed the question above it. :rofl:

These kids and their newfangled gizmos, I tell ya....
