I am clueless as to why my gay female friends
Edited on Tue Oct-28-08 07:32 PM by undeterred
are voting Republican. We've never talked politics, and frankly I just assumed they were liberal. A mutual friend told me that that one of them is Republican... and today I talked to her partner on my way to vote. She said she hadn't decided who to vote for yet- how can that be? I got the feeling she didn't want to get into a discussion with me about it.

not anti abortion or religious. I mean, I really have no idea.

3. My guess: They probably don't want to discuss it because

...either they can't make a well reasoned argument for their choice and/or they are entirely ignorant about politics. Either way they don't want to look foolish in front of you.

Good learning opportunity there. :)

5. I think you're right.
I didn't push it but I think our mutual friend and I will both be working on them.

4. One of the girls I work with is a lesbian and a republican.
We have no idea why. Her partner is liberal. Some nights someone ends up on the couch because of the arguments.
Oh, and another friend of mine at work is a black man who is a Republican. That I do not understand. He tells me he knows his party hates him, but they are protecting the wealth he hopes to build for his children. I laughed at that. Look at where the Republican policies have gotten us and our money. Good luck with that, dude. LOL

6. These two are struggling financially,
would benefit from marriage rights, have no military relatives, don't have any particular issues which would give away why they would lean Republican... People never fail to surprise.
