What's your favorite Live Concert DVD?
I love The Who's 1989 live performance of Tommy from the LA Colliseum. It has Elton John, Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Patti Labelle, and Steve Wynnwood as guest musicians. :D

25. As Freddy was a wee bit dead at the time, that would be a big yes.
Still a lot of great music got sung that night.

6. The Cream reunion...
NO, WAIT... The Complete Monterey Pop Festival, with the Jimi Hendrix performance and the outtakes.

Oh no, I mean Sarah McLachlan's Afterglow Live.

No, I mean Joni Mitchell: Shadows and Light.

Um, can I change that to James Taylor: Squibnocket?

I really mean The American Folk Blues Festival 1962-1966.

There's just too many to decide....

14. I got that. It's a good one, indeed.
Outstanding sound, and I like the two sets divided the way they were. My only complaint is that Akerfeldt jibber jabbers too much (he does this all the time, even when I saw them). He's a nice guy and all...but just play the friggin' music already.

The drumming on the song Deliverance is unreal, but he's gone now. The new drummer doesn't seem to be lacking in anything though, if the new Opeth CD is any indication.

26. LOL...no, that's Enslaved.
Opeth is quite a talented bunch. They're hard to pin down.

They do songs that are very mellow, like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxaFANthouM

And songs that kick major amounts of ass, like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOqBDHjzOV8&feature=related

Most songs mix all kinds of styles, from jazz to classic rock to straight out death metal. I guess I'd consider them progressive death metal, but that's not really fair because they sound like no other death metal band, that's for sure. No other DM band does stuff like Opeth does at the 3:20 mark of the second song I linked to. One of their albums, Damnation, is all acoustic. It's partner, Deliverance, is all death metal.

28. Watershed is absolutely amazing.
I like the direction they're going in with this one - it's a far cry from the Steve Wilson produced albums but it seems like they're stepping forward with each release.

23. I don't think I have a favourite...
I don't own that many. There's a Cure one that I sort of like some of.... though I wish they'd just released the same recordings as a CD - I'd actually listen to it more. There is a fantastic one with the Sugar Cubes, but what makes that one good isn't so much the live concert footage, which is great, but the interviews with the band members between songs.... ok, that one is my favourite.
