I went to this lady's house to pick up a freecycle item. It wasn't on the porch, as I'd told it would be, so I rang the bell. She came to the door, apologized for forgetting to put it out, and had me follow her through her kitchen to the garage to get it. I was carrying it out when she offered me a pro-Prop 8 yard sign. I had noticed on the way in that they had a pile of them on the front porch, and that all of their neighbors had them- I'm guessing they got a stack from their church with instructions to give them all out. Anyhow, I just said "no thank you" and was about to leave when a rather naughty impulse struck me. I blushed prettily and said with a sly smile, "I don't think my wife would like that."

And then I told her I hoped she had a nice day anyhow, and I left.

Christine Craft began her 10:00 pm-1:00 am program by saying that she had a T-shirt that says "YES ON PROPOSITION 8" with the little stick figure family, same colors and logo as the lawn signs, but instead of "Protect Marriage" it says "Protect Bigotry". She was asking people what kind of reaction they thought she'd get when she wears it around Sacramento tomorrow.
I loved your story, and thought it would be a good one to go along with that topic so I emailed it to Christine at KGO, saying a friend related this had happened to her.
