OMG moth balls are foul!

We're doing some pest management with drier sheets in cabinets and moth balls in the attic. My boyfriend just opened the box of moth balls and I'm about ready to vomit. They STINK. Worse yet it gave me flash backs to an old couple that lived next door when I lived in AZ as a child. Their house had a funky smell and now I know what it was. :puke:


I'm going to burn a tart and hope to gods that it at least somewhat masks this stench.

1. What kind of pest management?

We had a problem with raccoons in my late teens, and were advised to put mothballs in the gutters and around the outside of the house.

OMG, the first night I slept with my bedroom window open, I got so nauseous I had to puke. It did take care of the raccoon problem though. Only an animal with a suicide wish would go anywhere near that awful smell.

2. Yes, but they can be awfully handy

You can use mothballs and a slingshot to drive out the scorpions infesting the crawlspace of your house. If you happen to have that problem.

3. Ditch the mothballs, and ditch them far away! They're dangerous!

4. Hmm..

I think I'll be having a talk with my boyfriend about putting those up in the attic now. Thank you! I had no idea as I've never used moth balls before in my life.
