I got a job offer
Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 03:47 PM by lizziegrace
Everything we discussed was acceptable for the most part - it includes a huge pay cut from what I was making at my last job but I knew that going in. I asked that he put it in writing and I'd confirm with him once I've had some time to think about it. Deadline is noon tomorrow. It's a good company and they really want me to come to work with them.

Would the job in Columbus be better? At least you have options now...

As for being alone up there. Am I correct in thinking you are close to a bunch of fellow DU'ers who can keep you company up there?

Edited on Mon Oct-13-08 03:47 PM by lizziegrace
but I've left two messages for the HR contact who called me Friday and he hasn't called me back to schedule an interview. I can't wait much longer and don't want to put off the company who extended a real offer. I've made my decision and will move on...

25. Remember the words to the song from "Avenue Q"
"It's only for now!"

No reason to throw perfect out the window forever - just for now.

It will be easy once you have something to sit back and be complacent, but keep looking, keep your name out there, stay in touch with people. Even in a bad economy, people DO hire.

Congrats on the stopgap job!
