Would THIS work? Insteade of a TOUR, just flying to Barcelona and then
looking for a cheap hotel, then poking around town by oneself, then catching a bus to Lourdes and stuff like that?!1


(I'm not the adventurous type.)

4. I've always travelled that way.
Just bought the air ticket, then wandered on my own. Even when I was a new green traveller. It's more of an adventure. Plus, you meet more locals. Hostels are great places to meet travelling company. It may be for only a day or two before your paths split, but then you'll meet someone else. I was timid before all that, and it brought me out.

*Take my advice with a grain of salt. I've also travelled rough, hitchhiking and pitching my tent off the roadside when it grew dark.
