Can radio waves f-up a digital camera?
I was just looking at some pics I took of a cell phone tower and there are little squiggly lines all around the frame of the tower. There are other objects in the pic that don't have the lines. Was my camera picking up waves being emitted by the tower?

1. I wouldn't ever say that it's not possible,
But I've taken photos in lower frequency-higher energy situations and not had any problems.

4. Oh, there were tons of warning signs around the tower
People with pacemakers, etc.

10. It's one of my small Tesla coils.
I'm currently building one that is slightly larger (4.5" as opposed to 3.5",) but can still be operated indoors. However, I'm also gathering the parts to build a large one. Some things are just outdoor toys.

Regards, Mugu

11. The previous photo is of a baby coil at only 900 watts.
But, the camera is within 5' of the action.

Coiling is something that I typically do during cold weather due to the lack of other photographic opportunities and the fact that components last longer at lower temperatures.

I do remember having some problems several years ago with random sparkles in the photo while using a Fuji camera, but have never had any problems with my newer Panasonic or Cannon cameras.

This is a photo of a lower powered coil taken with the old Fuji camera and then the sparkles were cleaned up.

3. was there red clay in the background?
i'm going to say this has only happened to my digital camera (knock on wood) with red/orange backgrounds such as red clay/deforested red dirt

7. i would THINK it has to be visible but don't know for sure
Edited on Sun Oct-12-08 06:49 PM by pitohui
i'm going to have to look into this again and get back to you

i thought the red clay had to be exposed and that the digital camera doesn't quite grok a red clay background but i think i can find out if it's actually something in the clay that does it, whether it's visible or not

when this happened to me it was in a heavily eroded area of exposed red clay due to mining

VERY possible i made an "assumption"
