it isn't that far from us, so sometimes we take weekend trips there. we are members at the aquarium.. i love that place!

13. That Aquarium (like most, but not all) is horrible.

We took our kids there when it opened. It was a huge waste of space. Crowd flow was non-existent. Then:

2 Whale Sharks died within months of each other; they were responsible for the deaths, in my opinion. I will never go there again.

They punctured Ralph's stomach with a feeding tube because he wouldn't eat, and that led to his death.

I imagine that an aquarium must be HUGE to be really good. There has to be an amazing amounts of expertise and engineering that went into that. I can't imagine how much work goes into designing and maintaing the tanks. The reefs have to be at least partially artificial, so it's got to take a lot of expertise to manage that without negetively impacting the environment inside the tank.
