I wish I could take them all in and love them to pieces.

2. I think that's the whole point.... that evil Sarah McLachlan is guilt tripping you out
It's an effective ad in that respect. I want to go rescue some poor critter from death row every time I see it. But I don't have any room for them, sadly :(

5. I wouldn't say it makes me feel guilty. I have 3 rescues, and at one time I had 4.
It just breaks my heart to see innocent animals neglected or abused.

Why, WHY?

8. Actually she's singing about shooting smack.
But, it's a pretty song despite that.

3. That's why I heard that on TV...
I heard it and started drinking to drown out the memory of She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named.

7. An ex, actually
although she did leave the dog I got her for a Christmas present with me, and I had to leave her (the dog, not the ex) with the local animal control officer on the promise that she (the dog, not the ex or the animal control officer) would get a good home. Time for another drink.

9. I'm sorry. That was cruel of her.
I had a similar situation with my ex.

She was so immature and vindictive that she preferred to take her precious cat to the local shelter, rather than leaving her with me. Even though she KNEW I would have given Button a good home, and would have taken good care of her.

I fear Button was euthanized, but I'll never know for sure.

10. Every time I hear the music, I change the channel.
I've rescued many cats, but I can't stand the sight of a neglected animal on television; I would see it when I closed my eyes at night. I think it's the fact that, since it's on television, there isn't a damn thing we can do for those particular animals. It is very painful. Some of the people I admire on this earth are the ones who volunteer to work in animal shelters. God bless them.

11. I have to change the channel whenever any of those ads come on
If Haruka has the remote, she knows to change the channel ASAP. I literally have nightmares after seeing those ads.

Like you, I wish they could all be given loving homes.

12. I can't watch that ad...
I have to mute the television and look away. We have two cats that my partner took in basically off the streets (longer story there, but beside the point). We're moving into a bigger place and will have room for more, and we will probably rescue a couple more cats once we're all settled in. But everytime I see ads like this one, I want to bring them all home.

13. One morning, I found my 11 year old son sobbing over that commercial.
He's an animal lover...a cat lover in particular.

Such a sweetie.
